DSG Charity Bazaar Raised 73.2 Million Tanzanian Shillings for Projects. Congratulations!!

A special thank you and congratulations to 2011 Bazaar Chair, Julie-Wakeman Linn and her fabulous, hard-working committee. A whopping 73.2 Million T Shillings was raised to support the DSG projects. So many people, including hundreds of kids, enjoyed the DSG Annual Charity Bazaar on Saturday, 26th of November. The kids events were really “hopping” and “lots of fun,” Wakeman-Linn’s teenage and elementary school age friends reported. A special thanks to Anne Clarke who took over the EU/kids games at the 11th hour and helped the kids’ team make them such a success. The country stalls had an amazing variety of goods and the Dutch cheese sold out early. The team even had time to wander the country stalls and the white elephant and shop, too. Our first estimates are that, for the Fall fund raising season, we will exceed last year’s impressive totals. The Project committee will have a lot of cash for the most vulnerable of Tanzania.
It was a hot, but fun, family day, with few technological glitches. The Pan Percussion Orchestra opened the day. The IST students played and the Irish Dancers danced and Bethsaida girls sang. Yasmin Mulji won the grand prize of two KLM tickets and Debbie VanByndt won the Benetton tanzanite pendant.
